About this collection

The National Library of the Republic of Moldova holds an impressive collection of different bookplates that is kept in the Collection of Old and Rare Books. Another ex-libris collection that has been constituted on the basis of the donations from well-known creators of this type of graphic such as Valeriu Herta, Leonid Nikitin, African Usov, Antoseac Arcadia, Baciu Nicholae Kravcenko Vladimir and others, is kept in the Department Collection of Art and Maps. The subjects of this collection are varied: portraits of great personalities of the political and cultural life of the time, landscapes, scenes of social life, writers and their works, anniversaries and commemorations, etc.
